About Sean

I moved to Kamloops in 2002/3 and started working at a local call center until deciding that this wasn’t the place for me to be in town, it seemed to embody the reasons for me leaving Vancouver.  Good thing to because they closed their operations just recently as well.  After leaving he was interviewed and started working with Interior Metis Child & Family Services and remained with them as an employee for three years.  I must say, I’m not big on “Job’s” anymore but this was a fantastic place to be and while their I had the great pleasure of learning a few things about social responsibility.  After a top down complete restructuring of the organization I had left to contract with this society rather than work with them as an employee.

While contracting with them for technical services and other specific data work, I had the opportunity to accept a foster child into our home.  I’m not going to mention his name however various family has met him at some point in time or another.  This was a tremendous experience for both him and I.  We learned quite a lot about each other, and it sure settled me down in terms of the community here and how closely connected everyone is here.

A wonderful bonus to working with the youth I did over the years was that I was able to put some effort to starting my own technical services company now called AI Technical Services.  We’re now fortunate enough to have several business contracts, and a good many business and individual clients that we service on a regular basis.  Annual revenues could be better, but of course they can always be better.   ;)   I have a business partner named Ramsey Lightfoot (who I might add is also to be the M/C), and we’re taking a look at opening a store front location this year in one of the commercial areas of Downtown Kamloops, possibly as early as October.

I also volunteer where possible and have sat on several board of directors over the last many years.  Presently I am the Board Vice-President for the Kamloops Society for Community Living and am in my second elected term in this role.

Also we, my company AI donates free web development / web sites to non-profit societies that meet certain annual budget criteria, we see this as a great way to give back to the communities.

Prior to all of this I spent a few years in an electronics department for a major retailer in Coquitlam, worked for several media companies in Vancouver, been good, been bad, and everything in between I suppose.
