A rollercoaster

HOLY CRAAAAAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok! So, I don’t know if I can type fast enough to talk about everything that has been happening over the past few days. It has been like a roller coaster ride for sure. Sometimes fun, other times you start to get a little nervous, and others still you think you might not make it. But like a roller coaster has its tracks, and safety inspections, I have Sean and my friends to make sure I don’t go getting myself unhinged! Thank God for that!

I went in for my final fitting last Friday. I can’t wait to post the before and after pictures of the alterations. What an amazing job she did!!!! I’m so excited, I didn’t want to take it off. I also was able to work at the Shelter last weekend, which is always a phenomenal experience. I work with such spirited staff and amazingly strong women that it always seems to pick up my spirits!

This weekend is my bachelorette for which I have no information other than some of my best friends( and family) are driving up from the coast to come celebrate with me! I’m so excited to see everyone and have a blast, and I’m even more excited to do with with some of the best people I know!  The following weekend I work, and Sean has his Bachelor party and by that time the countdown will be in the single digits!

Last night I had an awesome time getting my butt kicked in a ribbon tying contest, as Alison came over to help me decorate the wedding favours and some other stuff. It’s amazing the things you get good at learning to become a teacher ( just kidding!!!)

The rest, is relaxing, and preparing. Have a mani pedi hopefully next week, and a hair appointment. Also preparing thank you not lists and all of the fun and oh so sweet after work. I’m wondering what I ever thought about in my spare time before the wedding, and whether or not my brain will turn to mush from under use after the wedding.

Just as yet another reminder. We have a block of rooms booked at the Executive Inn in Coquitlam.

Ceremony starts at 11:00 at All Saints Church in Coquitlam, and the Reception starts at 5:00 at the Inlet Theatre in Port Moody. A map selection has been loaded below (thanks google).

There will be a bar, but it will be a ‘twooney’ bar so make sure to bring some spare change!

Can’t wait to see you all in 17 days!!!!!!!!!!

Panic Sets In

27 Days!!!! Eeeeeeek!!!!

I’ve already warned my best friend, who lives in New West that the next time he see’s me, I may be bald as a result of pulling out all my hair. It’s all coming so fast, and now that everyone is confirming, and backing out I’m having to do SO much work.

And I thought I had it all under control! HA!

Plus with the summer, all the activities and fun stuff to do after work takes away from my gluing, sparkling, and decorating time for the finishing touches for what ever is needed.Still waiting on the church for the information for the interpreters. (Sorry guys!!!)

On a happier note, my seamstress just called and I should be in for my final fitting at the end of the week.

Yippee!!!!

See you all so soon

45 Sleeps and counting!

I’m sitting here writing this as I am breaking in one of the pairs of shoes I am going to wear on the big day. I have a back up comfy pair, just in case my these ones prove too unbearable. I started doing some of the work on the table numbers the other night and Sean suggested I post the menu on the website. I was going to leave it as a surprise, so we will compromise and I’ll post some and leave the rest for you to discover.

I’ve also started getting idea’s together for the cakes! Im excited. Sean is up in arms about wanting a Boston Cream filled wedding cake which I was sternly against until I talked to the Amazing Robyn( www.erwinsbakery.ca ) and she started talking about strawberries and some other yummy goodies. Good thing I’ve been working out, and skipping sweets these past few months because I plan to do ALOT of eating!

Also just picked up three more shifts at the shelter for August and July, so a little client contact :) , a little extra moola :) . Less time with the fam is a huge downer, but it gives Sean a chance to hang out with kids without me which is a very rare occurance.

I stopped in at the church today and signed the last piece of paper needed and the wonderful receptionist put it in an envelope to be sent off to the Bishop today! Sean and I have also been working on picking the passages for the wedding ceremony- hopefully we can get all that sorted within the next week or so, so I can get the information off to the fantastic ladies who will be interpreting for me! A ceremony like this, especially in the Catholic church I can only imagine would be difficult to interpret- so I want to give them as much prep time as possible.

Hotel rooms are still available ( only one or two) but it’s end of season so I don’t imagine there will be a lot left closer to the date. If you need one phone the Executive Hotel in Coquitlam and book under the Coyle/Foster wedding. It’s $109 a night and if any one books wants to stay till the end of the evening I have two limos to pick up guests and bring them back to the hotel. No drinking and Driving!!!

Sooo.. Menu

We will have your choice of NY Steak, Chicken, or lightly spiced Cajun Salmon. There will also be grilled vegetables and a variety of salads for those of you who are Vegetarian. The bar will be serving basic highballs, and maybe a specialty drink or two. It’s a “twoonie” bar though so be sure to be prepared!!!

Are you getting excited yet? Because I sure am!!!!!! Yippie

HOLY MOLY!!!!

The reason for the caps is my barely able to be contained excitement!

58 days until the big day and I am sooo close to being all ready for it. We just this week finished paying off a bunch the big and little stuff. The stress release of paying some of those bills down has left a lot of room for being Giddy.

Spent the weekend in Vancouver last weekend with some amazing friends and family. Brenna was fantastic enough not only to come to Port Moody with me to see the reception venue, but she also gave me some FANTASTIC idea’s for set-up and seating etc.

Then I got to hang out with my almost cousin Meghan for lunch and some girl talk. She has also been incredibly helpful, by picking up our liquor license and insurance this weekend (SUCH an important task!!!)

Not to mention both these fantastic women are road tripping four hours to join in the festivities that will my bachelorette party!! <3

Also got to meet Julie Brown from www.letsfaceitbeauty.ca who was willing to go through some idea’s with me for hair and makeup. What a wonderful lady! And soo much talent!

Now its just a matter of getting my hands on some final decorations. My friend Brittany has been working tirelessly amoungst the million other things on her plate to make some decorations for me. One of the best/craftiest (in a good way) people I have ever met. This girl has some major talent too!

Sean has met with the priest to tie up some loose ends in the form of paper work. It seems to be one flaming-hoop-over-a-piranha-tank after another with the church, but it’s all worth it. Thank god for Sean’s ability to remain cool and collected and just get things done. With out him I think I would have flown to an exotic country in the throws of a mental breakdown weeks ago.

And probably most exciting of all I just this morning booked a limo to pick us up from Port Moody and take everyone who is staying till the better end back to the hotel!

There are still two hotel rooms available so PLEASE email or facebook me if you need one! Can’t wait to see you all there

<3

99 Bottles of… oh no it’s 99 Days

Its getting to that point where it feels so close but so far. I am trying to get everything sorted out as detailed as possible so there are no surprises day of, but its a difficult task.

Currently sorting things out for the catering and rentals, should have that finalized by the end of the month. Hair and makeup is done. Dress and tuxes are being ordered and altered respectively.. its coming a long. Now its the little finite details, like lighting, bible passages, and decorations. The things you don’t think about when planning a wedding are proving to be the most time consuming.

I’m also currently waiting for approval on a car loan because my car is broken enough I can’t drive it on the highway- so in order to make a few trips to Van to sort out some things I need a new vehicle. Oy!!!!

Sean is busier than ever, my job is going great.. life is starting to normalize a bit which is nice.

A reminder to everyone needing a hotel to book one ASAP please. I have a block of rooms booked at an amazing price ($109 a night) but they have to be booked by June 30th or the rate goes up.

Below are map links for the Church, Hotel, and Inlet theatre just so everyone can get their bearings!!

161 Days

First of all I would like to say what a wonderful procrastinating tools weddings are!! Every time I sit down to do homework, its wedding pictures, ideas, research, or blogging! Its fantastic and terrible at the same time!

So I want to send a message out to all the friends and family! Firstly I am booking a block of hotel rooms at the Executive Inn and Suites, in Coquitlam. If I book over 10 rooms the rate is $109.00 per night, and if I don’t have 10 rooms the rate is $129.00. I phoned and talked to the Best Western that is also relatively close and its DISCOUNTED rates were $149! Heck No!  So the hotel is about 5 km away from the reception site and the hotel does offer a shuttle service! No drinking and Driving at my wedding. Nor sirree!

That brings up my second point. I realized after I had mailed the invitations to identify that it will be a twoonie bar,not a house bar! Sorry everyone.

We have registered four our “Engaged Encounter” in July, and Sean should be talking to the Rectory this week to get the papers we need for the officiant. I am also expecting a bucket load of deliveries including the best cuff links I have EVER seen

iDo Wedding Scrabble Tile Cufflink Set for the Groom

and….. my wedding dress should be in by Monday!! YIPPEEEEE! Im so excited to try it on, and Im praying it turns out. If anyone who reads this didn’t see my facebook post last week I had this terrible dream it arrived and it was a pink shower curtain sewn onto a black cocktail dress. Yes I know I have a wild imagination… but thats ok

I also found the perfect bridesmaid dress, which Alison picked up last weekend after our stress relieving catch up.

We decided to get pedicures, and of course it snowed so we ended up walking around outside in flip flops in the snow. Brrr!! I also went out with my little helper Aurora ( lover of all things pretty) and picked out our unity candle and my flower girl dresses, which she joyfully modeled for me! I talked to the lovely Robin at Erwins Bakery, who calmed all my fears about the wedding, and not being prepared. She gave me some incredible ideas, we bonded over how daft men can be sometimes ( no offence anyone) and encouraged me to have some chocolate. Can’t go wrong there!
www.erwinsbakery.ca

Its all coming together.

On the home front Sean is actually out right now installing the floors in the shop. My new job is fantastic, and being home on weekends is even better. I am just procrastinating my last assignment of this course, and write two exams on April 9th. After which I plan to take a break from school until after the wedding. August 21 Ill be back like a bad cold !! I plan to talk to the advisory commity at school and try to get a prior learning assesment done considering they have decided that my 5 semesters of post sec english aren’t what they want and are requiring that I take Intro to Literature! OY!I tell you. Hey at least it will be an easy boost for my GPA.

We are also trying to spring clean/de clutter enough to show our house as we are trying to find something newer, smaller and a bit more manageable. Too much I tell you..

People say its supposed to keep you young, but I tell you, last night when bed time rolled around ( 10:00) I felt like an 80 year old. I guess there is no rest for the wiked, I just didn’t think I was THAT bad!! :)

Good night all!

Progress!

So much has happened in the past month! Ay yay yay!!!

So most of the invites have been mailed ( i say most because Sean has really been struggling with a few of his family members addresess! Oy!) My dress should be in by the end of the month, I have all my jewelry, my bridesmaid gifts and my Mom’s gift! Yippe soo excited!

I was also told by my brother in Indiana that he might actually try to make the trip out, which is monumentally exciting and unexpected.

I have also recently been hired at New Horizons, as an… I dunno what my title is yet! Full time, weekends off, benefits and the whole shebang! I might even have earned up vacation time and GET PAID  to take the time off for the wedding. And we are looking into selling our house too!

We are registered for a pre-wedding workshop thingy that is required by them church.. and now we just get to pay for it.

For those of you who read this blog we are booking a block of rooms at the Executive Inn and Suites in Coquitlam so please email Brian Coyle,  or Sean or myself if you will be needing a hotel room for the night!!

Thanks a bunch

Ringing in the New Year

Yikes!!! Its January 30th already!! I can’t believe how incredibly busy and fast this month has been.  So here is the update!

Life wise: Sean recently incorporated and has plans to open the doors to his downtown  office by early February. Plus he got a fancy sticker for his car that lets him park everywhere with no tickets!! Lucky! Him and Ramsey have been working like madmen this past month, and they just keep getting busier!

Just before Christmas I re-enrolled in school, and was offered a part time position with the Therapy Centre until the end of May. I have been working 7 days a week ( save the few sick days with the kids) and doing faaaar too much homework for my liking. My courses should be finished in April, or before depending on how much I slack and then I will be spending my spare time cleaning and wedding planning. Yipper

Wedding wise: We just got out invitations delivered Friday, keep your eyes on you mail!!! :) I ordered my wedding dress Thursday, and have sent my best friend on an Ikea mission to find me some candle holders! Pretty much all of the idea’s are solidified- now comes the fun part of paying for everything!

Ive even managed to find the exact bouquets I want on a Martha Stewart site and am debating just buying a bucket load of plants this spring so I dont have to pay a florist $254 for a single bouquet ( are you KIDDING me?!?! That is just stupid)

As time nears closer to the big day I will be posting maps, locations, and hotel information. Please Please please let me know if you are needing accomodations. Its a Saturday in peak vacation Season and i don’t want anyone to be stuck!!

OOh and when I get home from work ( at  7:00am) I get to go to a bridal fair and enter to win a whole bunch of cool prizes. One of my great friends recently proposed to his girlfriend who will be there too and I am looking forward to the experience of feeling like a bride. Thank good for good friends!

My next mission ( should the universe grant me enough time to accept it) is to find Sean a wedding band. Im going to get one later as I already have a gorgeous band from Sean that fits the bill perfectly!

And thats about all. I should get back to cleaning at work, next shift starts in an hour and a bit and if i don’t get off my butt now it may not happen.

FYI

We have made reservations at eh Executive Inn and Suites in Coquitlam.

If anyone wishes to stay there PLEASE PLEASE let me know and I will try to setup some sort of group rate with the hotel!!

Thanks a bunch!

Staying Calm

So Im working through our wedding countdown list and apparently getting ahead of myself. I have all these wonderful Ideas for decorations and center pieces and all the other glitz but taking care of it all now seems like a bad idea. I know it will either get lost or damaged, but Im worried when it comes down to it I wont find the time. Working three jobs SUCKS!

And Sean just let me know that our officient has only given us a maybe.. and that answer will stay a maybe until much closer to the date!!! EEK

For any of you that can access TV Series Season DVD’s or download them I recommend getting  How I Met Your Mother Season 2 Episode 21… its me!!! Soo very appropriate.

Thats all for now.. guest list to do!  ( which keeps growing I might add)
